About us
Our story
Why we exist, and how we choose to work.
The Human Baseline Initiative was founded to fund and support grassroots organizations that serve underrepresented groups, starting with people living with disabilities, from visually impaired students to spinal cord injury survivors.
We don't build new programs from scratch. We partner directly with organizations already doing this work on the ground, providing the funding, structure, and strategic support they need to grow sustainably.
Though we are just beginning, our model is built to scale. By equipping local partners with the resources they need, we're laying the foundation for lasting, community-led independence.
Founder
Chiadika Eleh
Chiadika founded The Human Baseline Initiative on a simple premise: everyone deserves a baseline standard of dignity and access. Growing up Nigerian-Canadian, she experienced firsthand the vast gaps in opportunity across borders, which drives her to build solutions for historically marginalized communities.
A University of Pennsylvania Bioengineering graduate (BSE and MSE), Google software engineer, and incoming Stanford MBA candidate, Chiadika bridges technical rigor with grassroots impact. Her work in accessibility began at Penn—building assistive measurement devices alongside the National Federation of the Blind—and continues at Google, where she ensures products are accessible by default.
Through The Human Baseline Initiative, she extends that commitment to historically overlooked communities, launching first in Nigeria alongside our local partner organizations.
